Rawalpindi Chole


Chole (chick peas) cooked with spices. Very tasty and popular Indian food for special occasions and regular meal.

You will need:
Checkpeas-500gm(cande)
Tomato puree-100ml
Vegetable oi-2tbs
Cumin seed-1/2tsp
Ajwain seed-1/2tsp
Besan(Gram flour)-50gm
Chhat masala-1tsp
Chana masala-2tbs
Chilli powder-1/2 tsp
Coriander powder-1tsp
Amchoor pwder(ango pwder)-1/2tsp
Salt to taste
Water-50ml

• Heat oil in a non-stick kadahi or wok
• Add cumin seeds and ajwain seeds
• Add Besan (gram flour) and stir (Bhunno) till light brown.
• Stir in powder spices and add Chole (chick peas)
• Cook 5 minutes.
• Add tomato puree and continue mixing
• Pour 50ml water, stir and cook for 5 minutes
• Add salt as per taste

• Garnish with Onion ring and Chopped coriander leaves.

• Rawalpindi chole should be served dry with nan, roti, bhature bread or rice.
